Terms of service

The service

StopperLab estimates, from your photos, how a card's condition compares with a published grading scale. An estimate is a range of grades with a level of confidence. It is not a grade, and no grading company gives or stands behind it.

Your account

You must be 13 or over. You can try the app without an account; reading a report needs one. Keep your sign-in to yourself: what is done with it is done by you.

Credits

A new account gets five free analyses, once per account and once per device. Further analyses use credits from packs. Credits do not expire.

A credit is spent only when a report with an estimate is delivered. If an analysis cannot give an estimate, or fails for a technical reason, its credit is returned.

Purchases in the app follow the refund rules of the App Store or Google Play. A purchase on the website can be cancelled within 14 days unless you asked us to start at once and accepted that you lose the right to cancel for the credits you use.

What an estimate is not

An estimate depends on the photos and on what can be seen in them. A grading company may grade the same card differently. Do not rely on an estimate alone when you buy, sell or insure a card.

Your photos

Your photos remain yours. You let us process them to give you the service. We use them to train our models only if you switch that on.

Fair use

Do not use a report or a record to misrepresent a card, for example by showing a record of another card, or a record after the card was changed. Do not try to break, copy or overload the service, or collect its data automatically. A record reported as misused may be revoked; its page then says so.

Ending

You can delete your account at any time. Credits left in an account are forfeited when it is deleted; the app tells you how many before you confirm. We may close an account that breaks these terms, and return any credits it bought and did not use.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under consumer law. Beyond that, we are not liable for a loss that comes from relying on an estimate.

Law and changes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Each version has its own version name, shown at the top of the page; we ask you to accept a new version before you use the service under it.

StopperLab and Card Grader are not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by PSA, Collectors, Beckett, SGC, CGC or any other grading company. "PSA" is used only to refer to PSA's publicly published grade definitions.
